Philippine hit, Macau miss in 2015 predictions

Last January, my prediction of a Macau recovery in 2015 was well off the mark, but I made better calls on the Philippines, Australia and Japan.

Macau leads gaming’s Asia Top 50, but new names on list prosper elsewhere

Despite the yearlong slump in the world’s gaming capital, Macau still dominates Inside Asian Gaming’s Asian Top 50 at the front end, with eight out of the first nine and 11 of the first 13 names on the 2015 list. But all five of the list’s newcomers are making their bones beyond Macau.

South Korea casino scene heats up

Incheon, site of South Korea’s gateway international airport, and resort island Jeju are the scenes of an escalating competition for new gaming licenses among foreign billionaires and national champions to cash in on Chinese tourist growth, plus a Philippine wave seeking to lure Korean customers to Manila casinos.
